My printmaking ranges from representational to abstract as I explore the use of different techniques, to produce particular effects. My other artwork is chiefly figurative, in pastel or oils. I am also dabbling in textile art, using screenprinting and dyeing. In 2010, I gained a Certificate in Advanced Printmaking Techniques from the Curwen Print Study Centre.

Both the content of my artwork, and the way in which I create and develop the work, are informed by my career, in which I have carried out neurobiological research, edited a scientific journal, and implemented information systems in a variety of settings. A major influence is my interest in the natural world.
