In 1977, I completed a two year Art Foundation course at Braintree College which was very diverse and rewarding; at the same time studying History of Art. Once graduated I went on to be employed at a local advertising agency covering all aspects of darkroom techniques and becoming a commercial/paste-up artist, a discipline now known as desktop publishing. Having taken a long break from the art world, I gained a Certificate in Advanced Printmaking Techniques at the Curwen Print Study Centre, Linton, Cambridge in 2010. Based in North Essex, my interest in photography, especially during my travels around the world, influences the structure of my screen prints, capturing angles, colours and shapes; these form the basis of my work.
